Legwear up to the 14th century, made up of two unconnected pant legs and fastened to the braies (underpants) by means of cords or straps.
The hosen are based on contemporary finds and illustrations from England and Scandinavia. Originally the hosen were made of wool. The tight clothing of the 14th century made it necessary for the leggings to be fastened to a jerkin or pour point. This combination was slowly replaced at the beginning of the 15th century by the closed hosen with codpiece.
Due to the tight fit, each hose is custom-made.
